My first experience with payment gateways was at the The Creative Store in 2007 working on e-Commerce sites - we primarily used Protx (now Sage Pay) and Barlcays' ePDQ.

I have also integrated with PayPal's website payments Pro

At World First I oversaw a Prepaid Currency Card project, but was not the lead developer.
