I'm comparing an intensive year (2021/2) at Delta Capita using AWS in anger for all development across 3 teams and supporing 2 production systems against decades of Private Cloud experience.

I've not attemped formal AWS qualifications, preferring to evaluate any use based on the first and secondhand experiences.

The Public Cloud has a place - I've had both positive and negative experiences - but as with most things to get the best all options should remain on the table as long as possible

One DC project was a Microservice with encapsulated data - ideally scallable in run but has become unsupportable.

The other used a shared database and S3 for storage, but with microservice verbs and thus far seems a reasonable solution.
