Front bumper scrap repair / respray

Having never tried a repair with just a spray can I thought I'd give it a go with a colour match from the car's data sheet.

Before repair

After repair

I managed to blend the respray so didn't need to spray the entire panel.

I've owned this car for almost 10 years and other than washing it I've not really done very much.  I repaired some damage from 2014 2 years ago and have now started investigating it's CAN bus.

OBDIII'm using 8 Devices USB2CAN product and the can-utils software on Debian 8, with a custom DB9<>OBD-II cable using the pinout adjacent. [USB2CAN pinout]

To access both high and low speed buses you need 2 ODB-II to DB9 converters..

  • OBD-II pin 16 (12v) -> DB9 pin 9 (probably not needed)
  • OBD-II pin 14 High speed CANL > DB9 pin 2
  • OBD-II pin 11 Low speed CANL > DB9 pin 2
  • OBD-II pin 6 High speed CANH > DB9 pin 7
  • 5
  • 4
  • OBD-II pin 3 Low speed CANH > DB9 pin 7
